Both ways sell in the sense of humor and serves more or less the same impact. I guess with the product shown, that give me a feeling of hard selling. Without the product, doesn't mean soft sell, but i would be more willing to received the selling massage.
Agreed, and thank you DD for sharing your view. Both approaches use an exaggeration of the result using the product, but it was a bit "artificial" and absurd when the product was shown, "is it really that powerful?" might be the response. Whereas without the product, it tempted the viewers to figure out by themselves what's happening and almost instantly they were satisfied by getting the clue. The ad played a trick on us but at the same time it allowed us to associate with the "wonderful" appearance wearing the bra.
